Brighton, a charming city in Michigan, had a recent visit from the Emmy Award-winning PBS-TV series, “Under the Radar”. Hosted by Tom Daldin, the show takes viewers on a trip around the most interesting places and people Michigan has to offer.
This episode, which gives viewers a glimpse of downtown Brighton and its many alluring spots, will be aired tonight at 8:30 p.m. Also, for those who miss the show’s initial airing, there’s a chance to catch it again on Saturday, August 31st, at 10:30 a.m.
For the making of this episode, the UTR team spent some time in Brighton in early August. Here, they got to witness and record the city’s major attractions and charms. Four businesses from the city got a special spotlight during the episode. These include Bourbon’s restaurant, 2 Dandelions Bookshop, Brewery Becker, and Captain’s Ön Main.
Earlier this week, dedicated patrons of the independent bookstore and the artisanal pizzeria were given a special preview of the episode. To make it an even more exciting experience, both places offered special prices for the evening.
Moreover, A Wilde Theatre, located near Mill Pond Park, presents another way to enjoy this episode. They are set to screen the episode this Saturday at different times – 1:45, 2:45, 3:45, and 4:45 p.m.
This special coverage of Brighton came about thanks to the efforts of the Explore Brighton Howell Area, the marketing tool responsible for promoting the destination. Their executive director was pleased with this development and stated that such showcases often lead viewers to actually visit the highlighted areas.
Jim Edelman, the Executive Producer of UTR, praised the unity of the Brighton community. He remarked on how this community is eager to show the rest of the state the wonderful offerings of Brighton.
Finally, it was indeed a proud moment for Brighton’s inhabitants and visitors to see the city’s improvements being showcased positively, especially after the recent comprehensive streetscape project. Surely, this episode will draw more attention to this lovely city and its friendly and welcoming community.
