Big news is coming out of Travis Pointe Country Club in Ann Arbor, and it’s something members and golf enthusiasts alike can get excited about! The club has announced a whopping $6 million renovation project set to dramatically transform its facilities by 2027. Yes, you read that right—over the next couple of years, members can expect some thrilling upgrades that will enhance both the clubhouse and the golf course.
As a proud, member-owned private golf and lifestyle club, Travis Pointe Country Club isn’t just any ordinary location. With a lengthy history of hosting prestigious events, including the LPGA’s Volvik Championship, it has firmly established itself as a premier destination for serious golfers. Not only does it boast an 18-hole golf course that is renowned for its quality, but it comes complete with a vast range of amenities. Think indoor golf simulators, racquet facilities, swimming options, and exquisite dining experiences curated by award-winning Chef Jason Berthold.
Fast forward to 2027, which marks the club’s 50th anniversary. This renovation aims to make the club even more appealing, and the plans are nothing short of impressive. General Manager Kori Isaac has shared that the focus will be on intentional and on-trend updates based on invaluable member feedback. Members can expect a revamped clubhouse with an open design that not only accentuates architectural features but also creates a perfect social gathering space for friends and families.
The renovations will breathe new life into the clubhouse, making it a go-to spot for events and gatherings. The grill room and bar area will be redesigned to cultivate a more sophisticated atmosphere, making it ideal for both casual outings and special events. Picture sipping cocktails while enjoying the evening sky on new outdoor dining areas, which will offer an elevated alfresco experience. Additionally, renovated dining rooms will include a stunning grand stairway to ensure easy access and visual allure.
One of the exciting additions is a fifth outdoor tennis court, catering to the growing demand among tennis lovers. The club is determined to push the envelope on fun and engagement, ensuring that every member finds their ideal pastime within the facilities. Beyond the clubhouse, the golf course will also see some much-needed improvements.
As for the golf aficionados, get ready for a facelift to the golf course that will enhance long-term conditions, aesthetics, and playability for all skill levels. The club has enlisted the expertise of veteran golf course architect Chris Wilczynski to lead the charge. Expect exciting changes such as bunker realignment, enhanced fairway designs, and revitalized bunkers featuring the Better Billy Bunker lining system. If you thought golf couldn’t get better, there are plans to expand greens and adjust fairways to further improve the playing experience.
Renovations won’t be a rushed process either. Construction on the clubhouse is slated to kick off in fall 2025, while golf course enhancements will start in 2026. Both Comus Consulting and The Alan Group will ensure that updates happen in phases, so members can enjoy the evolving services without feeling too much disruption.
