In a shocking incident in Canton Township, an 81-year-old woman lost control of her vehicle, crashed through a residential garage, and ended up hitting a man in a neighboring backyard.
The mishap unfolded on September 9th around 2:38 p.m. in the vicinity of Saltz Road and Redfern Street. The lady was driving a 2014 red GMC Acadia west on Saltz Road when she veered off the road and rammed into a garage, causing heavy damage.
The vehicle didn’t stop there, it continued its unintended journey into the backyard where an unsuspecting man was struck. The local police confirmed that the man sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Both the driver and the startled victim were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The details of their current condition or the cause of the accident are still unclear.
The Canton Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team has been assigned to look into the matter. They are not ruling out any possibility at this moment and anyone with any information related to the accident is encouraged to report it.
