Taylor, MI is buzzing with excitement as Tiny Stepping Stones has opened its new location. This innovative daycare, which first broke ground in Wayne just over two years ago, is designed for families who require childcare beyond typical working hours. In a world where many work shifts that extend into the night or start before sunrise, this service couldn’t come at a better time, especially with the holiday season right around the corner!
When the original Tiny Stepping Stones opened its doors in August 2022, it offered hope to parents like Madison Scheurich, a working mom who scrambled to find reliable care for her little one. “I was juggling a job that had a constantly changing schedule,” she shared. The relief of discovering this 24/7 childcare was a game changer for her. “I didn’t have to change jobs!” Now, both of her kids are enrolled, thanks to the flexibility the center provides.
For many parents in Taylor, like Sonia Williams, the ability to drop off their kids at any hour is a huge advantage. As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), she often works unconventional hours, making it challenging to find childcare. “Being able to pick up extra shifts really helps, especially with Christmas coming up,” she explained.
The president of Tiny Stepping Stones, Chyna Stone, understands the growing demand for services like this. “With the holiday season approaching, many parents are working overtime—triple time even!” she stated. Parents are not just looking for any kind of care; they need a reliable support system that understands their unique challenges.
Chyna’s idea for a 24/7 daycare came from her experience running another business, a facility for elderly care that also operates around the clock. She noticed that many of her staff were struggling with childcare during odd hours. “It made me realize the gap that exists. Places like Amazon and hospitals are open 24 hours; why shouldn’t there be a solution for kids?” she pondered.
Recognizing the need, she took a leap of faith and opened the Wayne location, which quickly became popular. “Seeing it fill up so fast made it clear we needed to expand,” Chyna noted. A year of hard work later, the Taylor location opened its doors at the end of October, just in time for the festive season.
For Chyna, the journey to open this second location was filled with ups and downs. “It was very emotional; I spent countless hours here. There was a lot of blood, sweat, and tears!” She described the feeling of finally welcoming children into the new facility as a culmination of her hard work and dedication to the community.
A significant aspect of Tiny Stepping Stones is the trust parents place in this daycare. Madison shared her initial fears about putting her children in daycare but emphasized how her kids love being there. The center has become a part of her support system, along with family and friends. “When they say it takes a village to raise a child, it truly does,” Sonia echoed. Trust and relationship-building are fundamental, and Tiny Stepping Stones is dedicated to creating a warm, welcoming environment.
With the expansion into Taylor, Tiny Stepping Stones is set to make a significant impact on the community. As they continue to grow, the facility promises to provide valuable support for families in need of flexible childcare options. If you’re a parent looking for that extra helping hand, Tiny Stepping Stones might just be what your family needs!
