South Lyon Welcomes the Holiday Spirit with Annual Tree Lighting Event

South Lyon Ready to Sparkle with Holiday Spirit!

It’s that wonderful time of year again, folks! South Lyon is gearing up for its annual Old-Fashioned Christmas Tree Lighting, hosted by the charming Carl and Joanne Foundation. Tomorrow promises a bustling day filled with festive fun as part of the larger Holiday Spectacular event!

Get Ready for a Day Full of Joy!

The holiday fun kicks off bright and early at 10 a.m. Throughout the day, you can immerse yourself in a variety of activities that cater to all ages. Stroll through the delightful winter farmers’ market where fresh produce and handmade goodies await. Let your creativity shine at craft stations, or enjoy games that will spark joy and laughter. The Historic Village will also be open for tours, and watch out for some fantastic performers popping up throughout downtown to make the atmosphere truly magical!

Meet Santa and Share Your Wishes

The big man himself, Santa Claus, will be spreading cheer at 228 S. Lafayette St. from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.. Make sure your little ones take their lists to meet him! But that’s not all—Santa will then make his way over to the Witch’s Hat Depot to receive a special key to the city from Mayor Steve Kennedy. What a sight to see!

Later in the evening, Santa and Mrs. Claus will greet the kids at the Washburn School at 7 p.m., creating memories that little ones will treasure forever.

The Holiday Spectacular Parade is Here!

One of the highlights of this wonderful day is the Holiday Spectacular Parade, making its grand entrance at 6 p.m.. This festive parade promises to bring a joyful atmosphere as it weaves through downtown, starting at Bartlett Elementary. As the parade winds down, don’t miss the moment when Santa lights the tree in the Historic Village—a spectacular sight to end a joyful procession!

Evening Festivities Await

Now, let’s get to the evening celebrations! The Old-Fashioned Christmas Tree Lighting is set to brighten your night at 7:30 p.m., just outside Heinanen Electrical. Expect some lively entertainment along with refreshing drinks as the evening unfolds!

At 228 S. Lafayette St., adults can enjoy live music, beer, wine, and cocktails starting at 6 p.m. There’s just a small cover charge of $10 after that time, and it’s strictly for those who are 21 years and older. The lively band Rock Mob takes the stage, ensuring the spirit stays high into the night!

Cheers at the Beverage Barn

The fan-favorite beverage barn will be in full swing from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m.. Until 6 p.m., there’s no need for wristbands, so come enjoy without any fuss! Drink tickets are available for just $5—perfect for treating yourself or a friend.

If you’re planning to join in on the fun, pre-purchasing wristbands is a smart move! Grab them ahead of time using the first link, or simply purchase them in person. Don’t forget—if you opt for pre-purchased wristbands, they’ll be ready for pickup on Saturday!

The festivities continue until 11 p.m., ensuring there’s plenty of time to soak in all that joyful holiday spirit!
