RFK Jr. Was My Drug Dealer: A Deep Dive into The Endorsement of Trump by Kennedy

RFK Jr.: A prominent figure

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a leading environmental lawyer and activist, synonymous to liberal Democratic politics due to his familial ties, recently made headlines by withdrawing from his presidential candidacy. Instead, he announced his association with Donald Trump’s campaign, marking a surprising political twist.

Trump, arguably the most anti-environment president in recent memory, has reshaped the Republican Party into a right-wing, anti-democratic, proto-fascist personality cult, contrasting starkly to Kennedy’s display of liberal democratic values. The announcement has raised numerous eyebrows and questions regarding their incongruence.

Common Ground between the Two?

However, despite the apparent contradictions, Trump and Kennedy share certain features. Born into northeastern wealth and privilege, both men were associated with issues during adolescence but managed to secure Ivy League education due to their generational wealth. The men share a penchant for attention, both being notorious philanderers and liars.

During his speech, Kennedy focused on federal pharmaceutical regulation and chronic disease programs, promising significant changes if Trump gets elected and stays true to his word. He underlined his intent to create a healthier America within four years and stressed Trump’s desire to establish this as his legacy.

Kennedy’s Drug Connection

Amongst all these political debates, recently an incident from the past revolving around Kennedy’s dealing with recreational drugs has resurfaced. In his youth, from the ages of 15 to 29, Kennedy struggled with addiction, specifically heroin, which he stopped using after a near brush with law enforcement.

A classmate and former drug customer of Kennedy at Harvard University recalled a specific incident in which he purchased a gram of cocaine from Kennedy. This rendezvous showcased Kennedy’s reckless adolescent entitlement, especially as he reprimanded the classmate for accidentally taking a plastic straw containing traces of cocaine.

Trump’s Stand on Drug Dealers

What makes this anecdote particularly striking is Trump’s stand on drug dealing. He once mentioned in his speech, if elected to power, he would enact a law sentencing drug dealers to death— something that might have had fatal consequences for Kennedy when he was younger, essentially making him complicit in the same behavior he now condemns.

Trump rationalized his stance by stating that strength is the only deterrent for these “terrible people.” He pointed to China’s zero-tolerance policy towards drug dealing and their quick and efficient legal process leading to capital punishment.

In light of these declarations, questions arise about Kennedy’s future responsibilities within the potential Trump administration, his endorsement of a candidate who promotes capital punishment for drug dealers, and the stark contrast with his past behaviors.

As of now, the Kennedy campaign remains silent, neither confirming nor denying the incidents or issuing a comment on Kennedy’s stance on Trump’s policy towards drug dealers.
