Local Man Gets 2-15 Year Prison Sentence for Harboring a Missing Teen Girl
A 21-year-old guy in Oakland County, Michigan, US, is off to the slammer following the discovery of a 13-year-old runaway girl at his crib earlier this year. The lad, a certain Douglas Corbeau, was handed a 2-15-year jolt in prison on Thursday after admitting to third-degree sexual assault and sheltering a teenage runaway back in June. Before you ask, yes, once he’s out, he’ll be slapped onto the sex offender list and won’t be allowed any contact with the young girl.
Here’s the tea: the kid disappeared from her home in January and was found going at it with Corbeau in his White Lake Township pad a couple of days later. Word from the girl’s old man is that she battles with some mental health twists and turns. He said she hooked up with Corbeau on social media and moseyed out of home to hang with him. What’s more, he claimed Corbeau changed her appearance while they were together – chopped and dyed the girl’s hair.
Yup, it looks like it’s a long haul for the lad, and a tough lesson in internet dangers for the rest of us.
