Pontiac Witness: 19-Year-Old Young Man Dies in a High-Speed Car Crash

A 19-year-old young man from Pontiac tragically died on Monday when he was thrown out of his car in a high-speed crash. The awful incident occurred on Franklin Road, close to Hughes Avenue in Pontiac. The local sheriff’s office was quick to the scene and is currently leading the investigation.

According to the information from the investigators, the young man lost control of his 2016 Dodge Charger as he was driving at a high speed at around 1:18 a.m. The car jumped over the curb, after which it smashed into a utility pole, a fire hydrant, and then a tree. The force of the crash caused the driver to be ejected from the vehicle, as he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The young man was urgently rushed to a nearby hospital, however, his injuries were too severe. Tragically, despite the best efforts of the medical team, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. The identity of the young man is yet to be released by the authorities as they are in the process of notifying the family.

Interestingly, there was also a passenger in the car at the time of the crash. The 20-year-old man, also from Pontiac, was strapped in with a seatbelt, which might have saved his life. He didn’t endure physical injuries from the crash. This serves as a potent reminder, about how crucial wearing a seatbelt can be.

The police have confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the mishap. Neither drugs nor alcohol is expected to have played a role in this incident. The investigation still continues to piece together the full story.
