Perennial Exchange Event in Novi, Michigan
On September 21, the city of Novi, Michigan will host an exciting community event for nature enthusiasts and home gardeners.
Contacted by the Novi Beautification Commission, this Perennial Exchange will provide a unique opportunity to revitalize your garden. Attendees are encouraged to bring their labeled perennial plants to swap with others, thus introducing new flora to their home gardens. The event is an innovative step towards creating a more diverse, vibrant local landscape.
However, the event isn’t only about plant exchange. In partnership with Oakland County Parks, those attending will also receive native plant kit giveaways. This initiative complements the plant exchange by promoting the growth of native flora that best suits the local climate.
There’s also a special guest appearance at the event. Novi Fire Captain and Beekeeper, Mark Theisen, has been invited to deliver a talk discussing the significance of supporting pollinators in gardens. Bees, butterflies, and other pollinators play a crucial role in maintaining our ecosystem. Therefore, learning to foster them in our gardens will greatly contribute to local biodiversity.
With the event kicking off at 9am and lasting until 11am, there will be ample time for attendees to engage in plant exchanges, listen to the guest speaker, and indulge in the native plant giveaways.
The location of the event is Fuerst Park, which is known for its natural beauty and community engagement. Pre-registration for the event is encouraged to ensure a smooth and organized gathering
