Sponsor Our ArticlesOntario International Airport (ONT) has been awarded six international accolades for its innovative digital marketing strategies at the 2024 Moodies event. Recognized for its ‘Not So Fast’ video campaign and social media prowess, ONT’s marketing team has demonstrated creativity in connecting with travelers. The airport is also experiencing near-record passenger volumes, reflecting growing popularity as California’s top mid-sized airport.
Exciting news has just landed at Ontario International Airport (ONT)! This busy hub in Southern California has wowed the travel industry by snagging not one, not two, but six international awards for its outstanding digital media and marketing initiatives. Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “reaching new heights,” doesn’t it?
The accolades were proudly presented at the 2024 Moodies, a prestigious event hosted by the Moodie Davitt Report, celebrating excellence in the travel industry. ONT was recognized in a range of categories that highlight the airport’s innovative approach to marketing. Among these were the “Best Campaign – Airport,” and “Best Overall Use of Social & Digital Media,” reflecting the hard work and creativity the airport’s marketing team poured into their campaigns.
A standout highlight was the airport’s “Not So Fast” rebranding campaign, which won the “Best Use of Video – Airport” award. This engaging campaign was designed to evoke the beautiful and bustling spirit of ONT while promoting its unique offerings and services.
Not stopping there, the airport also swept the social media awards, taking home trophies for “Best Use of LinkedIn,” “Best Use of Instagram,” and “Best Use of TikTok/Douyin.” It’s clear that the marketing team knows how to connect with travelers using various platforms, showcasing their talent in tailoring messages that resonate with audiences of all ages.
The judges at the Moodies were especially impressed with the airport’s marketing strategy. They applauded the team for their creativity and the significant gains made through a deeply researched campaign. This success is a testament to the careful planning and execution that went into achieving these fantastic results.
Atif Elkadi, the CEO of the Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA), expressed immense pride in his team’s accomplishments during this thrilling period for the airport. He noted that the commitment and creativity displayed were key in sharing ONT’s unique story with both local and international travelers. Eren Cello, the OIAA Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing how authentic and meaningful the campaign’s messaging was to the broader community.
On top of all the marketing success, it’s an exciting time for passenger traffic at ONT, as the airport is currently experiencing near-record passenger volumes. This momentum is especially remarkable considering that ONT serves one of the fastest-growing population centers in the U.S. People are clearly recognizing the benefits of using the airport, which just so happens to be a fantastic option for travelers heading to Los Angeles and beyond.
In fact, ONT has been named California’s most popular mid-sized airport according to the J.D. Power’s North America Airport Satisfaction Study. You can understand why – the airport is conveniently located about 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles and provides nonstop commercial jet service to a variety of major airports across the U.S., along with destinations in Mexico, Central America, and even Taiwan.
Since the Ontario International Airport Authority was established back in August 2012 to oversee the airport’s operations and development, key leaders such as President Alan D. Wapner, Vice President Curt Hagman, Secretary Jim W. Bowman, Treasurer Ronald O. Loveridge, and Commissioner Julia Gouw have been driving this growth and innovation.
With these remarkable awards and a bright future ahead, it’s clear that Ontario International Airport is not just another airport; it’s a vibrant gateway that’s reimagining the travel experience. Now, who’s ready to grab their boarding pass?
