Oakland County Guy Rakes in $2 Million from Lottery Ticket

Can you imagine being the lucky one to win a $2 million lottery prize? Well, a regular chap from Oakland County doesn’t have to. Why? ‘Cause he just did!

This 54-year-old guy, who doesn’t want his name in the limelight, scooped up a cool 2 million from the Michigan Lottery’s Jackson Instant Game.

Get this. He didn’t even buy the ticket himself. Instead, he gave his buddy some cash to buy it for him at this shop called Orchard Market Place in Farmington Hills. He’s done this sort of thing many times, but this win…well, this was something else.

“When I saw I had won $2 million, I just flipped. I was completely blown away and, if I’m being honest, I still am. It’s tough to put into words what this win feels like,” the lucky winner shared.

He’s already headed over to the Lottery headquarters and his family…well, they’re in for one big surprise when he shows up with that huge check.

And guess what? He’s chose to have the entire amount given to him in one go, which will be around $1.3 million after tax deductions, rather than getting paid slowly over time.

The man has some decent plans for the money. He’s gonna save it and invest in his kids’ university education. How awesome is that?

The winning game, Jackson Instant Game, is one of the big hits the Lottery launched in May, according to their boss, Suzanna Shkreli.

Shkreli hinted that the money generated from the lottery sales are going towards an impressive $1 billion help package for schools. “When our players bag a massive win, like this $2 million prize, it’s always a moment to remember,” she said.

Before you think all the big money’s gone, let me tell you this – there’s still over $82 million in prizes, including another two for that sweet, sweet amount of $2 million. Plus, you could be in with a chance of winning one of the 16 $20,000 prizes or the 281 $2,000 ones!

Finally, a heads up that this isn’t the first big win recently. Just last week, a guy from Sanilac County won a whopping $1 million from a ticket he bought just on a whim! There was even a team of lucky players who scored a $697,964 jackpot on the Fantasy 5 game back in July. And just seven days after that, a dude from Macomb County pocketed an incredible $963,040 from the same game!
