Oakland County Judge Suspended Amid Allegations

There’s a lot of stirring in Oakland County, Michigan, where one of their local probate judges, Kathleen Ryan, is facing a serious investigation. Sources claim Judge Ryan could be in hot water for her alleged inappropriate relationship with a man who also happens to be an employee within the county court system. But that’s not all – there are also murmurs about additional misconduct that might be tied to Ryan’s name.

As the plot thickens, all collected evidence will be forwarded to the judicial tenure commission. They play an important role in situations like this because their recommendation carries a lot of weight with the Michigan Supreme Court. The Supreme Court could decide on various actions, anywhere from lifting the allegations to permanently removing Judge Ryan from her post. It’s quite a serious matter.

Past Controversies

Believe it or not, this isn’t the first time Ryan’s name has been embroiled in a scandal. Rewind to 2021, Ryan had a court case of her own where she was accused of physical assault and battery. The alleged victim was her ex-boyfriend, and the incident occurred at one of their residences in Wixom. Due to potential conflict of interest in Oakland County, the case was moved to Wayne County, and eventually dismissed.

It would be informative to know that Judge Ryan was first elected in 2010 and her primary function is to oversee wills and conservatorships. To date, there have been no prior investigations or complaints against her by the judicial tenure commission.
