Exciting Community Events Set to Grace Oakland County

Calling all residents of Oakland County! Mark your calendars for a series of thrilling community events set to kick off through July 28 and beyond. From car shows to charitable activities, sports outings to educational events, there’s something for everyone in the coming days and weeks.

Car Shows

Calling all motoring enthusiasts! Get ready for Muscle & More, a classic car show happening on Aug. 3 at the Royal Oak Historical Museum. Also, Corvette lovers shouldn’t miss America’s Corvette Car Show on Aug. 10 at Everest Collegiate High School & Academy in Clarkston. Other upcoming events include the Woodward Dream Show & Festival from Aug. 14-Aug. 17 and the Oak Park ‘Cruise & Groove’ Car Show on Aug. 15. Gear up for a whole lot of vroom!

Charitable Activities & Fundraisers

On Aug. 1, pop into the Steinway Piano Gallery at Commerce Twp. for the “Knockout Skin Cancer” event. Proceeds will go to support patients of all ages needing assistance. Other charity initiatives include Ace Hardware Bucket Days Promotion from Aug. 2-4 where donations made will go to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Also, don’t forget to register for the Color of Wellness 5K Run on August 3 aimed at helping local families facing cancer.

Festivals/Shows

Festival-lovers, get ready to be entertained. With fine art shows in West Bloomfield Twp. and the Village of Rochester Hills on July 27 and 28, art enthusiasts will have plenty to see and do. Gear up for the Food Truck Festival at the Big Rig Gig on Aug. 2 in Orion Twp. and the annual Buy Michigan Now Festival from Aug. 2-4 in downtown Northville.

Golf Outings

Golfers, mark your calendars. The 43rd Annual March of Dimes Golf Classic is on Aug. 12 at Saint John’s Resort, Plymouth, and the John Kelly Memorial Golf Invitational is also on Aug. 12 at the Country Club of Detroit, supporting the Rose Hill Center.

Community Activities

Bring the whole family to the Wet and Wild Wednesdays at Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm, every Wednesday through July 31. More family fun can be had with Movies Under the Stars on July 29 at Hess Hathaway Park, Waterford Twp. and Movies in the Moonlight- “Barbie” on Aug. 3, in downtown Rochester.
