Oakland County Community Calendar Gears Up for Exciting Events this August

Residents of Oakland County are in for a series of exciting events this summer, from business meetups to car shows, charitable activities, and community gatherings. The best part about this is that most of these events are free and open to everyone.

Networking and Learning Events

Green Olive Soaps of Troy is gearing up for the debut of “Ladies Who Launch,” a social networking and learning event slated for August 16 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This event promises to be an enlightening journey into the world of successful women entrepreneurs in Metro Detroit, featuring guest speakers who share their personal tales of business ownership.

Car Shows

Car enthusiasts will be thrilled by multiple car shows scheduled to happen from August 11, starting with the “Rockin Rods n’ Rochester” car show. The lineup also includes the Woodward Dream Show & Festival, the Oak Park ‘Cruise & Groove’ Car Show, the Birmingham Cruise Event, and the Annual Woodward Dream Cruise.

Charitable Activities/Fundraisers

For those keen to give back to the community, a myriad of charitable events are on the calendar too. From Mike Morse Law Firm’s annual Project Backpack giveaway to Life-Sized Candy Land Game and the Detroit Heart Walk, there’s plenty of opportunities to extend a hand to those in need.

Community Events

Community spirit will be at an all-time high this month, with events such as the Church in the Park, the Breakfast with the Superintendents, Stream Science, family-friendly outdoor movies, and Blue Moon on the Beach. Also, save the date for the Health & Housing Summer Fest coming up on August 19 at Catalpa Oaks County Park.

Festivals/Shows

Festival-goers are also in for a treat with the Milford Memories, the Festival of Flight at Oakland County International Airport, and the Annual Downtown Franklin Summer Block Party. All of these fun-packed events promise a good time for the entire community.

Library/Museums

Finally, education and enlightenment will be a key focus with events like the Honey Harvest and Handcrafted- a Traditional Trades and Crafts Fair at the Rochester Hills Museum and Troy Historic Village respectively. Also, don’t miss out on the “Medicare 101” event at the Rochester Hills Public Library on August 20.

Remember to share these dates and get ready to have a splendid time at one or several of these events. Let’s make this summer unforgettable!
