Are you in the market for a new home or just curious about the latest trends in housing? Then you’re in luck! This weekend, Novi will be buzzing with excitement as the Michigan Manufactured Housing Association (MMHA) rolls out the red carpet for its highly anticipated home show. The event is set to feature six stunning manufactured home models that will leave you in awe!
The show, taking place at the Suburban Collection Showplace, kicks off on Friday. Visitors will have the chance to tour a variety of homes, each constructed in a controlled factory environment on a sturdy steel frame. These homes are designed to be versatile, suitable for use on either a permanent foundation or as a standalone unit connected to utilities.
Once built, the homes are transported to their future sites, whether on private property or in a community where you lease the land. It’s a unique way of building that meets the standards set by the federal Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards Act, enforced by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
And that’s not all! If you’re more inclined towards modular homes, they will also be showcased. These are factory-built homes that are assembled on-site by licensed builders, adhering to state and local codes. They could be one or two stories tall, providing even more options for potential homeowners.
Did you know that Michigan consistently ranks among the top 10 states in the country for manufactured home shipments? In 2022 alone, there were 4,934 shipments, followed by 3,212 in 2023. Since January 1, 2021, over 12,000 new homes have been shipped to the state. This speaks volumes about the growing popularity of manufactured homes!
John Lindley, President and CEO of MMHA, expressed his excitement saying, “The manufactured home models featured at this event redefine what’s possible in our industry.” Along with the incredible homes, representatives from manufacturing companies, communities, and retailers will be available to answer any questions and provide valuable insights into the lifestyle that comes with manufactured homes.
Expect to see three single-section and three multi-section homes, all with eye-catching designs. Ranging from 1,056 to 1,699 square feet, each model will showcase at least two to three bedrooms and two bathrooms, catering to a variety of family needs. And best of all, the prices range from a wallet-friendly $46,748 to a luxurious $149,999.
As Lindley pointed out, manufactured homes are a fantastic option for a lot of reasons, including their affordable price points and energy efficiency. The process of buying one is also remarkably swift—buyers can close the deal and move in within 16 to 90 days!
Curious to see these homes in person? Head over to the Novi Home Show this weekend. The event runs through Sunday at the Suburban Collection Showplace located at 46100 Grand River in Novi. Show hours are 12 p.m. – 7 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday.
