The shocking incident occurred just before 10 p.m. in the parking lot of the Suburban Collection Showplace.
Police Respond to State Fair Shooting
Officers stationed at the Michigan State Fair reported hearing gunshots coming from the area of the parking lot near Grand River Avenue. Initial radio traffic suggested an active shooter on the scene, leading to a rapid and substantial response from several surrounding law enforcement agencies.
While the incident is not fully resolved, authorities have confirmed that the shooting is an isolated event, occurring after an argument that allegedly spanned multiple communities throughout the week. Victims Shot – One Teen Confirmed Dead
Both 14-year-old victims were shot during the confrontation, sustaining severe injuries. The two boys immediately received medical attention and were transported to the hospital. Despite the best efforts of the medical teams, one of the boys succumbed to his injuries. The other victim, thankfully, is in stable condition, according to the hospital report.
