The man, Darrell Jarrell, found himself at the center of controversy during a simple misdemeanor trespassing charge hearing at a Washtenaw County court. When the judge was about to adjourn the court, Jarrell publicly aired his frustrations with a vocal and vulgar outburst.

“I’m Tired of This”

Jarrell declared, “I’m tired of this state, I’m ready to leave this state as soon as possible.” He then went on to utter a phrase that would dramatically increase his legal troubles, “You guys can kiss my a–.”

This flagrant defiance stunned the courtroom, prompting Judge Cedric Simpson to strive for decorum and caution against further reckless comments. Unphased by the judge’s warning, Jarrell responded with an even more disrespectful remark, saying, “F— you!”

Six Misdemeanor Charges and Possible Jail Time Result from Outburst

Judge Simpson immediately held Jarrell in contempt of court and slapped him with a 93-day misdemeanor charge. Unbelievably, Jarrell responded by repeating the vulgarity. Consequently, Simpson reciprocated by replicating the misdemeanor charge. Within a space of few minutes, a disgruntled Jarrell managed to rack up a total of six misdemeanor charges, resulting in an accumulation of over 558 days in prison. The spectacle ended with the court bailiff forcibly removing the irate Jarrell from the premises.

Earlier this year, he dealt with another unusual case where a man charged with driving with a suspended license dialed into a virtual court hearing while actively driving a car. The man, Corey Harris, had his bond revoked and was ordered to turn himself into the Washtenaw County Jail by 6 p.m. that day.
