A Local Man Lost His Life in Beck Road Accident

A tragic incident occurred in Novi on Aug 29. A 62-year-old local resident lost his life in a dreadful car accident. The mishap happened when his car bumped into another vehicle on Beck Road. It’s always heart-retching to report such sad news.

The accident occurred around 5:08 in the afternoon. The place of the incident is reported to be Beck Road, which is a bit to the north from 8 Mile Road. The incident led to the dispatch of police and fire department units to the specified location. The officers identified the deceased to be Mr. Steven Erno, who sadly passed away on the spot.

Mr. Erno was driving his Ford Fusion in the northern direction on the Beck Road when his vehicle crossed the centerline, leading to the disastrous event. The vehicle that he crashed into was a GMC truck coming from the opposite direction. The 44-year-old Plymouth resident who was behind the wheel of the GMC truck is fortunately safe and did not require any medical attention.

The officers investigating the matter share that substances such as alcohol or drugs were not involved in this accident. The exact cause is, however, yet to be ascertained since the autopsy results are still anticipated. The investigation is ongoing and further information will be shared in due course.

The officers on the scene reminded everyone of the importance of safe and attentive driving. They stressed, “Ensure not to drive when distracted and always keep an eye on your speed.” They also emphasized that unpredictable events can occur anytime on the road, and the only way to avoid them is to stay focused and adhere to the driving rules.
