Brighton, MI: LL Flooring Closing All Stores in Michigan

It was recently announced that LL Flooring, formerly Lumber Liquidators, will be closing all its stores across the state of Michigan. This includes the store located just south of Brighton in the Green Oak Village Place lifestyle mall. This comes on the heels of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing by the company.

Starting from last Friday, the company began its closing sales and expects the complete closing process to last roughly three months. LL Flooring is known for providing quality flooring materials such as bamboo, cork, hardwood, laminate, tile, and waterproof vinyl flooring.

Brighton Location Among the 13 LL Flooring Stores in Michigan

The Brighton store is among 13 other LL Flooring outlets across the state. The Brighton store’s service area includes places such as Brighton, Hamburg, Hartland, Highland, Howell, Lyon Twp., Milford, Novi, Pinckney, South Lyon, Whitmore Lake, and Wixom.

Unsuccessful Negotiations and Previous Controversy

The company’s CEO, Charles Tyson, reported that the firm had engaged in negotiations with potential buyers. Unfortunately, these discussions did not lead to a deal with the needed financing that would maintain the value of LL Flooring.

In addition, the company faced criticism in 2015 following a TV investigation revealing that its products contained high levels of formaldehyde, which is known to be harmful.
