According to local authorities, the drama unfolded shortly after 1:20 a.m. on Sunday, November 3. Officers from the Livonia Police Department rushed to the scene following multiple reports of a shooting at the bustling bar located at 27630 Schoolcraft Road.
When they arrived, officers found a 36-year-old man from Detroit lying near the front door with a gunshot wound to his back. The situation escalated when police were informed of a second victim at the nearby Holiday Inn, which is located just down the street at 27541 Schoolcraft Road. There, officers discovered a 31-year-old man, also from Detroit, who had suffered a gunshot wound to his leg.
The investigation revealed that both victims had been involved in a heated altercation inside Snookers’ Pool & Pub. As tensions rose, the 25-year-old suspect, identified as Kamari Dushawn Parham, allegedly pulled out a gun and fired at the two men. Witnesses at the scene detailed how the fun-filled night transformed into chaos in a matter of moments.
Both victims were quickly transported to local hospitals, where they received medical care for their injuries. Fortunately, authorities have not reported any fatal injuries, but the emotional trauma of such an experience will likely linger. Officers swiftly acted to locate Parham, who was apprehended at the bar shortly after the shots were fired. He was charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder, along with other related charges.
Parham’s legal troubles are just beginning. He has been arraigned and slapped with a hefty $1 million bond. The preliminary examination for the case is set for November 14, where more details may emerge regarding the motivations behind the violent outburst.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the Livonia community, which typically enjoys a peaceful atmosphere. Local residents are left questioning how a fun night out could turn so dangerously wrong. Many took to social media to express their concerns and outrage over the shooting, emphasizing the need for safety in their local hangouts.
As police continue their investigation, the community is reminded of the importance of looking out for one another. Authorities encourage anyone who may have information related to the shooting to come forward and help with the case.
In light of recent violence, local officials are reinforcing their commitment to ensuring public safety in the area. As the investigation unfolds, both the victims and the community will be seeking justice and peace in a situation that could have been far worse.
As residents of Livonia await further updates, the hope remains that something like this will never happen again. Everyone deserves to feel safe while enjoying a night out, and it’s a collective responsibility to keep our local spaces welcoming and secure.
