The vibrant city of Novi, Michigan, came alive on April 9 as food enthusiasts and industry experts gathered for the highly anticipated Lipari Food Show. Held at the Suburban Collection Showplace, this event is fondly referred to as “the last of the true selling shows,” and it didn’t disappoint. From the early hours, the buzz was palpable, with brisk sales making waves right from the start.
Attendees were treated to a visual and culinary feast, with over 8,000 visits recorded and more than 15,000 items showcased from an impressive roster of over 1,200 brands. This year, international products took center stage, and there was a notable spotlight on delicious Middle Eastern cuisine. The crowd showed vibrant interest in various offerings from this rich culinary tradition.
For those with a sweet tooth, the ChocoLake brand brought mouthwatering confections all the way from Dubai. Guests also indulged in delectable Turkish Delights from Aghati Delight, which had everyone reminiscing about their last Middle Eastern adventure. Additionally, the refreshingly unique nonalcoholic malt beverages from Laziza, a Lebanese brewer established in 1931, were a highlight, featuring enticing new flavors such as Pineapple and Pomegranate.
The demand for halal products was clear, with tasty gummy bears from Turkey-based Sweets Through the Ages grabbing attention. Moreover, the Carfagna’s brand, known for its tagline “Just Like Grandma Made It,” received rave reviews. This fourth-generation family brand, hailing from Columbus, Ohio, showcased their home-style sauces through Lipari’s distribution network, delighting visitors with comforting flavors.
Artisan-style offerings were plentiful too! The show featured homemade fruit fry pies from the Der Dutchman Amish Kitchen Cooking brand that transported taste buds right to Amish country in Sugarcreek, Ohio. Attendees also couldn’t resist the charming lemon, blueberry, and apple tarts from the German maker Erlenbacher, alongside authentic French brioche from Brioche Gourmet that melted in the mouth.
In the ever-evolving world of beverages, the functional drink sector stole the show with some cutting-edge innovations. The Playr1 brand showcased its zero sugar, all-natural clean energy drinks, tantalizingly named Ultra Berry and Tropical Fusion. The zero sugar sparkling waters from OKF America and FrUve “super water” loaded with antioxidants and immune support also made for a refreshing experience. Visitors were intrigued by the unique Clever G & Tonic crafted with botanical extracts.
