The remains were found during the execution of a search warrant and are currently undergoing testing to confirm their identity. This development comes as a harrowing turn in the case of Dee Ann Warner, a mother of five and grandmother, who was last seen in her Franklin Township home. Her husband, Dale Warner, was charged in her death in November 2023. Dale Warner is currently facing two felony charges: open murder and tampering with evidence.
According to State Police, the remains were found on the property belonging to Dale Warner and emphasized that there is a substantial amount of testing and examination to be done before a positive identification can be made. The police have said that the property had been searched prior to this recent probe and are keen to convey that their investigation is still ongoing. More details are expected to emerge as the case develops.
Dee Warner’s family, upon hearing the news, described the situation as ‘surreal.’ Her daughter, Rikkell Bock, took to Facebook, expressing her mixed emotions at the development, stating, “The news we’ve waited 3 1/2 years to hear but we never wanted.” She hauntingly mentioned her desire to properly lay her mother to rest and vowed to secure the justice she deserves.
Dale Warner’s attorney, Mary Chartier, responded to the findings, casting a somber tone over the case. While waiting for confirmation that the remains belong to Dee Warner, she lamented on the tragedy and expressed empathy towards those who loved and cared for Dee Warner.
The Michigan police have urged anyone with information related to Warner’s disappearance to come forward and assist with ongoing investigation. They are hopeful that this development brings them a step closer towards delivering justice to Dee Warner and her family. This case continues to send ripples through the community, reminding everyone of the importance of vigilance and communal support in times of tragedy.
