Investigators searching for a Michigan woman, who has been missing for more than three years and is presumed dead, have discovered human remains on a property belonging to her husband. The family of Dee Warner reported her missing on April 25, 2021.
On Sunday, state authorities revealed that detectives from the special investigations unit found human remains while executing a search warrant on a property in Lenawee County. The property belonged to Dale Warner, the husband of the missing woman, Dee Warner.
Authorities stated, “The remains are currently in the process of being recovered and there will be a great deal of work and testing completed before positive identification is made.” They are in contact with the missing woman’s family and have updated them on the recent findings.
Dale Warner, 56, was charged with open murder and tampering with evidence in the disappearance of his wife. He pleaded not guilty to these charges. According to family members, the remains found were in an empty tank meant for anhydrous ammonia, a fertilizer for crops, sealed and buried on the property.
Dee Warner, aged 52 at the time of her disappearance, was last seen on the morning of April 25, 2021, on a road in Franklin Township, around 70 miles away from Detroit. Since then, she has had no contact with her family or friends, sparking concerns about her safety.
Dale Warner is currently being held in the Lenawee County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 4 for a pretrial hearing. As the investigation continues, an autopsy for the discovered remains is planned to conclusively confirm the identity.
“We’re waiting for confirmation that the remains are Ms. Warner,” said Dale Warner’s attorney. “But this appears to be another tragic turn of events for all those who loved and cared for her.”
This discovery marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation into Dee Warner’s disappearance and presumed death. As authorities continue to compile evidence and search for answers, the family and friends of Dee Warner wait with bated breath for the final, confirmed identity of the human remains found.
