Denisa officially started her journey on December 23, 2024, and she’s ready to roll up her sleeves and dive into the important work ahead. In her new position, she will play a crucial role in aiding those individuals and families who are currently confronting homelessness or are on the brink of facing it. Her focus will be on helping residents under the age of 60 find not just shelter, but a stable ground to stand on.
Denisa isn’t new to this game. Previously, she served as a Developmental Specialist at Criterion Child Enrichment. Here, she honed her skills by conducting detailed needs assessments and building robust networks with both community providers and clients. This hands-on experience will undoubtedly serve her well as she transitions into her new role focusing on housing, food insecurity, and healthcare access.
Before her time at Criterion Child Enrichment, Denisa made waves as an Inclusion Specialist at the Inclusion Initiative in Cambridge. Her work there revolved around supporting children with disabilities and helping improve their social interactions. This previous experience highlights her deep commitment to inclusivity and her dedication to strengthening community ties, which are so vital in tackling homelessness.
Denisa’s academic background fortified her passion for social issues. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Children, Youth, and Family Studies from Lesley University, with dual minors in Psychology and Communications and Media Analysis. This mix of education and hands-on experience creates a potent combination that positions her perfectly for her role in the community.
