Sponsor Our ArticlesAs the summer days start to fade and the crispness of fall fills the air, Downtown Farmington is gearing up for an event that promises to be a lively farewell to the warmer months. The Harvest Moon Celebration is returning for its 19th year, bringing with it a festive atmosphere filled with live music, dancing, delicious food, and refreshing drinks. Scheduled from September 19 to 21, this celebration is the perfect way to embrace the changing season.
Located at Riley Park, right on Grand River Avenue east of Farmington Road, the festivities kick off each evening at 6 PM and wrap up with a flourish at 11 PM on Thursday and Friday, and stretching a bit longer until 11:30 PM on Saturday. Guests can soak in the festive ambiance while enjoying a fantastic selection of over 40 craft beers and ciders alongside local wines, all available for purchase.
The sounds of live music will fill the air each night, creating a vibrant backdrop for revelers. Here’s a sneak peek at the entertainment lineup:
For those eager to join in on the fun, tickets can be secured for just $8 in advance or $10 on the day of the festival. To make the ticket-buying process even easier, you have the option to order online at www.downtownfarmington.org or visit local favorites like The Vines Flower and Garden Shop, Meadows Fine Wine & Liquor, or Farmington Brewing Co..
Behind this vibrant celebration is a dedicated team of over 100 volunteers, pouring their hearts into making the park a beautiful space adorned with fall decorations. If you’d like to lend a hand, even just a little, volunteers are still needed. Head over to www.downtownfarmington.org for more information on how to sign up.
The celebration also boasts the Farmington Farmers Market, which will be running its usual hours from 9 AM to 2 PM on Saturday at Riley Park. If you’re a fan of local craft beers, there’s a special beer tent that will be serving up some of the best selections to enjoy while you wander through the market.
So, whether you’re a regular attendee or someone curious about checking it out for the first time, make sure to mark your calendars for the Harvest Moon Celebration. It’s a fantastic way to say goodbye to summer and welcome the enchanting colors and cooler weather that fall brings. Gather your friends and family, and prepare for an unforgettable weekend filled with music, laughter, and some of the best that Downtown Farmington has to offer!
