The answer to who has a better grasp of America’s soul will come in the next ninety days, as both these political opponents traverse the country, selling their contrasting visions to voters. But in the interim, whoever is able to convince the average American that they understand, and indeed empathize with, their daily struggles, stands a good chance of carrying the day.
