Sponsor Our ArticlesThe city of Cortez is launching a series of four free digital marketing classes starting February 10, 2024, to help local businesses enhance their online presence. Organized by the Cortez Community and Economic Development Team, classes will cover topics such as brand identity, marketing strategy, website optimization, and SEO. Both virtual and in-person attendance options are available. Interested participants must preregister online.
Hey there, Cortez community! If you’ve been looking for ways to boost your business’s online presence, we’ve got some fantastic news for you! Starting on February 10, the city of Cortez will kick off a series of four free digital marketing classes designed specifically for local businesses. Yes, you heard that right—FREE!
These classes are organized by the Cortez Community and Economic Development Team and are made possible thanks to a grant awarded from the state under the Community Business Preservation program in 2024. The best part? The grant application was crafted with valuable input from six local businesses, and collectively they now qualify for infrastructure or business improvement funding through the city.
While these courses have been tailored to address the interests of those awarded businesses, they are open to anyone in the community who wishes to learn and improve their digital marketing skills. Whether you’re a seasoned business owner or just starting out, these classes aim to equip you with the tools you need to succeed.
The first class, titled “Communicating Your Why: Creating a Magnetic Brand Identity,” will take place on February 10 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Mark your calendars! Following that, we will have additional classes on February 24, March 10, and March 24.
Each of these sessions focuses on a different aspect of digital marketing:
To accommodate everyone’s preferences, there will be both virtual and in-person attendance options available. For those who opt to attend in person, classes will be hosted at City Hall, located at 123 Roger Smith Ave.. And don’t worry—breakfast will be provided for in-person attendees! What a great way to start your day!
Preregistration is required to secure your spot. If you are particularly interested in attending the first class on February 10, you can register online at https://tinyurl.com/2kh3zbpe. For those looking to attend in person, registration can be done through https://tinyurl.com/CT-marketing. Links for registration for the other classes will be available upon request as the dates approach.
Whether you’re just starting to think about your business’s marketing strategy or you feel already established in branding, these classes provide a great opportunity to learn, engage, and grow. Helen West, a community and economic development specialist, is particularly excited about the “Demystifying SEO” class, noting how complex SEO can be for many small businesses.
If you have any questions or need more information, feel free to reach out to Helen at hwest@cortezco.gov. She’ll be happy to assist you!
So, gather your business pals and don’t miss out! This is a unique opportunity for everyone in the Cortez community to enhance their knowledge, network, and grow their businesses with the latest digital marketing techniques.
