Christmas Tree Lighting – Let the Festivities Begin!
On December 6, the magic kicks off with the annual City of Troy Christmas Tree Lighting at 6:30 p.m. This beloved event will take place at the south entrance of City Hall located at 500 W. Big Beaver.
Join the fun as the Troy High Colts Drumline and the Athens High Concert and Treble Choirs fill the air with joyous holiday tunes. And what’s better? Warm yourself up with some delicious hot cocoa and Timbits from Tim Hortons Troy! After the tree lighting, be sure to swing by the north side of City Hall where Santa will be visiting with all the kiddos under a cozy tent!
Parades, Lights, and More!
If you’re in the mood for parades, Ortonville has got you covered! Join the Christmas in the Village festivities on the same evening from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.. Keep your eyes peeled for the lighted Christmas parade at 7 p.m., followed by their own tree lighting ceremony. A special treat for the little ones? They’ll have the opportunity to meet Santa too!
Art and Shopping Galore!
If shopping is more your style, the Sip Shop and Stroll event in downtown Franklin will be open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on December 6. With an art menorah lighting at 5:30 p.m. in Village Green and shops staying open late, it’s a perfect way to dive into the holiday spirit while finding unique gifts and enjoying seasonal treats.
Warm Up with Soups and Sweets
On the same night, head over to Oxford for the Soup and Sweet Stroll from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.. This is a delightful opportunity to sample five soups and sweets from local restaurants with your ticket. Don’t forget to check out music from the Oxford Community Schools Choirs and visit with Santa!
Crafting and Community Events
Craft lovers won’t want to miss the Annual Potters Market happening from December 5-8 at the Southfield Pavilion. Feast your eyes on unique pottery and get inspired for your own holiday crafting! For a more festive atmosphere, join the Holly Dazzle from December 6-15 to stroll through a winter wonderland filled with Christmas scenes and sparkling lights!
Savor the Holidays with Family Fun Activities
More family fun awaits on December 7 with the Annual Holiday Extravaganza in downtown Pontiac. The day kicks off with a parade at 11 a.m., followed by a Winter Fun Festival featuring a live ice carving competition! Kids can enjoy visiting with Santa and Mrs. Claus, plus a petting farm with real animals!
