News has emerged from Waterford Township, Oakland County, regarding a deeply troubling case of child sexual assault. A 21-year-old man, identified as Logan Sutherland, is currently facing serious felony charges for allegedly exploiting his relationships with parents to gain access to their children.
Sutherland is accused of gaining the trust of parents with young sons. After building this trust, it’s alleged that he then spent time alone with their boys, where he reportedly committed sexual assault. Local law enforcement has disclosed that all the victims identified so far were all known to the accused.
Sutherland was arrested on Tuesday, August 27, following an investigation into a complaint of sexual conduct involving a 10-year-old boy. Sutherland had numerous interactions with this boy. After authorities confiscated Sutherland’s phone, they discovered images and videos of undressed young boys which led to further allegations.
According to the details shared by the detectives, the four victims, ranging in age from seven to 13, were all assaulted at various locations including Sutherland’s home in Waterford Township, ZapZone, Sportway, and SkyZone in Commerce Township. The phone belonging to Sutherland also contained disturbing images of several other unidentified boys, raising concerns that there could be more victims. The police are urging anyone who had children in touch with Sutherland or know of children he spent time with to contact the Waterford Police Department.
Sutherland has since faced the judge, and the charges pressed against him include, four counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of possessing child sexually abusive material. The court has set his bond at $100,000.
