A Record-Breaking Bicycle Tour Raises Over $1.5 Million for Children in Need

In a heartfelt show of goodwill, cyclists and volunteers rallied together for the 37th annual Wish-A-Mile Bicycle Tour in Michigan. The key aim? To generate funds to help bring joy into the lives of critically ill children.

The exciting event, carrying out the second phase of a 300-mile voyage, was attended by nearly 400 bicycle riders. Each participant in this extraordinary journey pledged to secure enough funds to fulfill a single child’s wish. With every pedal stroke, the riders aimed to give these children a chance to experience their dreams.

Michael Hull, President and chief executive officer of Make-A-Wish Michigan, described the touching sentiment behind the event: “Each rider receives a special medal and then on their hand, they’re wearing the name of a wish child, their champion. That is the child they’re riding for.”

The remarkable efforts of the riders and the generosity of donors led to over $1.5 million being raised – a spectacular victory for cause. This means, as estimated by the organizers, that 500 wishes, each costing approximately $10,000, could potentially be granted. This is a record number for the organization.

The finish line at Marshall High School will mark the end of the journey on Sunday, July 28. But it doesn’t end there, everyone can contribute to this wonderful cause to bring joy to more kids’ lives. If you want to know more or wish to make a contribution, you can check their website online.
