Berkley Residents and Council Grapple with Decision to Ban Carnivals
Residents in Berkley are facing the possibility of saying goodbye to their beloved carnivals. Following a series of fights and safety issues at the annual Berkley Days, the city council is mulling over a ban on these events. This could mark the end of almost a century of tradition. In the past couple of years, the entertaining and joyous atmosphere at Berkley Days has been interrupted by chaos caused by some teenagers. The trouble has not only left families fleeing the event, but has also proven to be a strain on police resources. Berkley Days has always been a gathering that welcomed all, including unaccompanied teenagers, but the recent events have left parents worried.
