Oakland County Substitute Teacher Faces Charges for Criminal Sexual Conduct
In Oakland County, a man named Timothy Allen Daugherty, a 61-year-old substitute teacher from White Lake, has been hit with six serious charges. He is being charged with six counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct after allegations arose involving his inappropriate sexual behavior with minor students.
Around late August, Daugherty was charged following several incidents alleged to have taken place within Highland Township, where he was then employed as a substitute teacher. After these allegations were made public in April, Daugherty was swiftly suspended from his duties.
The accused was later arraigned in the 52-1 District Court, which determined a bond amounting to a whopping $75,000 cash or surety along with a 10% condition. Following his probable release, Daugherty would be expected to wear a GPS tether to monitor his movements.
A probable cause conference has been lined up for September 18 at 10 a.m., then a preliminary examination is set for a week later, on September 25 at 1:30 p.m.
The gravity of these charges against Daugherty, coupled with the severity of the implications surrounding them, has resulted in a call for anyone with more information to come forward.
