Oakland County Doctor’s Secret Recordings Investigation Could Take Months, Sheriff Warns

August 22, 2024

It’s a big day in Oakland County, particularly in Rochester, as residents grapple with the shocking revelations surrounding a local doctor. Dr. Oumair Aejaz is now under intense scrutiny for allegedly using hidden cameras to secretly record people. What makes this case even more scary is the possible number of victims, which could span into thousands.

It’s not just the residents that are baffled, law enforcement is also grappling with some serious questions. One of the most pressing issues is trying to figure out how long Dr. Aejaz has been indulging in this activity. According to official sources, the doctor might have been at it for over six years and potentially thousands of videos could be found on the internet or could be with other people.

Beyond the time span, determining who those victims might be is another challenge. Investigators are pouring over countless videos trying to identify people, who could range from adults to kids, caught in hospital rooms or changing areas. On top of that, they’re also looking for possible new locations that the doctor may have visited, like parks and stores, where he might have secretly recorded people.

For anyone who suspects that they or their loved ones might have fallen prey to Dr. Aejaz, the Sheriff’s office has a straightforward plan. Oakland County’s Sheriff Michael Bouchard recommends sending photos, names, and the specific location where they think they might have been recorded, along with a headshot, to their official email.

Up until now, they haven’t been able to determine whether the material has been shared with others. One thing that’s clear, though, is that this investigation is far from over. How long will it take? According to Sheriff Bouchard, given the overwhelming quantity of digital data involved, it could potentially take up to six months to see the end of this investigation.

Retired police Assistant Chief Steve Dolunt, with years of experience in investigations, is lending a helping hand to concerned families from the Goldfish Swim School. Parents and grandparents, shocked and appalled by the situation, are reaching out to him for advice on how to handle the situation if their kids or grandkids were among the victims.

As we dig deeper into this story and more information surfaces, everyone is left wondering the same thing – how could anyone possibly do this?
