Small Tim Hortons Solves Big Parking Problem in Oakland County

In Royal Oak, Oakland County, a business owner had been struggling with an unusual parking lot problem. The owner of a popular business called Barrels & Vines, Ken Lucia, found his parking lot being frequently used as a show-off spot for car enthusiasts and a community meet-up area.

This wasn’t just an occasional inconvenience. It was actually affecting Ken’s business negatively. So, he decided something had to be done. He tried multiple strategies, including putting up signs, bringing in police help, and even hiring security. Yet, the issue persisted.

However, an unexpected solution has now arisen and it involves a cherished Canadian brand. A tiny Tim Hortons coffee shop is being set up smack in the middle of the expansive parking lot.

The aim is clear and simple – to discourage the parking lot from being used as a car parade ground. By having this diminutive coffee shop in the center, it is hoped that the location would become less attractive for big gatherings and car shows. Plus, the constant stream of coffee lovers would ensure a more regular flow of customers using the space.

While it may seem odd, this creative tactic might be the perfect antidote to the recurring issue. It’s a win-win situation for both parties. Royal Oak gets its new coffee spot, and Ken Lucia is hopeful for a chance to regain control over his parking lot. Because let’s face it, everyone loves a good cup of Tim Hortons!
