Road Closure Planned in Wixom This Week
If you live in Wixom, you have probably already noticed an important change in the traffic layout this week. The local road closure starts today in Wixom City. The closing part is southbound part of the Wixom Road between West Maple Road and Pontiac Trail.
The purpose behind the closure is for the completion of important storm sewer maintenance tasks. This is expected to be completed by the end of this week, which is Thursday.
The local regulatory bodies gave the necessary permissions or permits for this important work to take place. While we understand this might disrupt your daily commute, these improvements are essential to keep our storm sewers in good working condition and our city safe.
Worried about how to get around during this time? Not to worry, a detour has been planned for you. You can use the West Maple Road to Beck Road to Pontiac Trail, back to southbound Wixom Road route.
This area of the Wixom Road is a busy stretch, with an average traffic of around 18,260 vehicles daily. So, if you’re one of the many that use this route, make sure to plan your travel accordingly.
And here’s some good news: the Northbound section of the Wixom Road will remain open during the entire project. So, you can still use that section of the road for your journey.
